Here's a thought experiment: Abraham & Isaac & the [Substituted] Ram/Lamb. Sounds pretty Miraculous to me. What do we think of THIS kind of "Magic"--where God/Angel/Star/etc. take the place in our experiment for "technique" or "wisdom"? Miracles seem pretty much like "Magic" to me, except the Agent is categorically different, or have I got things crashed together again :-)

I think the miracles of the Bible would be examples of what Aslan calls the "deep magic". The White White knew magic (as technique?) but Aslan knew the deeper realities. Pagan sacrifices were "technique"--attempts to manipulate the gods, or nature. Perhaps Abraham had some remnants of this mentality from his Sumerian past. God showed him the "deeper magic" in providing a ram for the sacrifice.
